I watched 'assault on precinct 13'... I got it because it got good reviews, and I heard it was good. the truth? it was mediocre.

So few movies have good gunfight scenes. is it really that hard? to not make it totally unrealistic with crazy assault weapons? to stick with pistols? to actually get hit by bullets and die sometimes (as opposed to miraculously running in front of automatic gunfire numerous times and coming out unscathed)? Why do the guns have to sound weak. A real gunfight would be deafening, frightning, and terrifiying. By making it unrealistic, you're not sparing the audience. You're just giving them the idea that gunfights aren't all that bad. it's stupid.

Tarantino does the best gunfights...

Wanna see gunfighting or the use of guns, with full-out injuries, that's as realistic as it gets? Try "Saving Private Ryan." There's a scene with a soldier holding his intestines. That's about as realistic as it gets.

yes, I've seen saving private ryan. I've also seen we were soldiers, platoon, apocalypse now, and a bunch of other war movies. They're brutal and all that, but I think you get the most violent, up close and shocking gunfights in general gangster/crime movies.

training day had some good gunfights too come to think of it.

training day was alright in terms of gunfights... boyz in da hood was pretty intense, especially for its time (early 90's or late 80's, i forget)

This is the song I was trying to tell you about last night. It'd be cool background music for when you're walking in slow mo.
